We are working on adoption applications, but may not have a volunteer willing to do any function that includes contact with other individuals until the case count as shown a decrease for 10 consecutive days.  Be patient, as the entire process may take months.

Paws Crossed Dog Rescue serves the Eastern Panhandle of WV and nearby areas.  Please read "Adoption Info" on the left side of our website to learn about our adoption process.

Paisley comes to us as an owner surrender, as the product of divorce.  She came to us underweight and in need of a serious grooming.  She's been completed vetted and groomed.  

She's a super happy girl!  She loves other dogs, loves to play and romp around, and crates easily.  She's getting used to a leash, and we don't know how she'd be with cats.  She'll need to learn some manners, and we will require that she be enrolled in a positive reinforcement style training class.  Within the requirements for that training class is that she will never, during the class or in her lifetime, be subjected to a pinch, prong, or electronic shock collar.  She will thrive best with an active canine sibling.  She will require a physical fence.  Electric / underground fencing is not acceptable.  She will require multiple meet & greets to get to know any potential new family prior to final adoption.  If you can't or are not willing to wait through a couple months of weekly meet & greets, do not apply.

Important Points:
- she needs a canine sibling
- she must have a physical fence
- she will require enrollment in training class, which could cost several hundred dollars
- her grooming needs could exceed $100 every 6 weeks
- we prefer an adopter with previous standard poodle experience
- potential adopter must come to Berkeley County, WV weekly, over a period of 4-6 weeks to do weekly meet & greets with their dog(s) and Paisley.  This is not negotiable.  
- Paisley is very attached to her foster family.  We expect that there may be a period of separation anxiety once adopted.  The weekly meet & greets are to allow her anxiety to subside over time.
