Paws Crossed Dog Rescue serves the Eastern Panhandle of WV and nearby areas. Please read ADOPTION INFO on the left side of our website to learn about the adoption application process. Honey Girl comes to us from southern WV, and was a breeder surrender. She's very cautious around new people and may take weeks to warm up to her humans. She is considered a bit of a flight risk, as she is not used to lots of human contact and may run if given the opportunity. She will require a secure, physical fence for her yard. She will not be adopted to any home that uses a doggy door or any form of electric, underground, or invisible fencing. This is not negotiable. She spent the first years of her life living with lots of dogs, mostly outside, and without much human interaction. Her potential adopter must be willing to be patient, understanding, and let her go at her own pace. She does great with other dogs, but we don't know how she is with cats. We also do not know how she would be with children. House training is a work in progress, so she'll need continual training by her potential adopter. She is uncomfortable on a leash, but that is also a work in progress.
