Gordon comes to us from a shelter.  He was found running at large, and was never claimed.  He's on the thin side, but we're working on putting some weight on him.  We don't know how he'd be with cats.  He has resource guarding issues with toys and WILL engage / have reaction with other dogs over toys.  He knows the basic commands of sit, shake, and down.  He LOVES the Jolly Ball.  We recommend he be the ONLY DOG in the household or be adopted into a home with a family member that has a background in dog training, behavioral training, or a combination of both.  We recommend close supervision with children, especially those under the age of 14.

He will absolutely need a yard and a physical fence.  He is not appropriate for apartment living.  We do not adopt to homes that use underground fencing.  He's crate trained and house trained.  He has those golden retriever puppy-dog eyes that will just melt your heart.  We'd like for him to be adopted into a dog savvy home, preferably with golden retriever experience.  Approved adopter will be required to show commitment to a scheduled training course.
