She came to us with the name "Zera," and she does know that name!

Zera means “new beginning” and that’s just what this lovely lady  is looking for.  Abandoned by her family when they moved and left her at the house alone, Zera ended up in an animal pound in rural West Virginia.  She was pulled by PCDR just hours before she was scheduled to be euthanized and thus began her journey to her forever home.  

Zera is most likely a Smooth Collie mix.  Her foster family shares that she does not shed excessively and her fur does not aggravate their allergies!  Her coat is short and soft and requires minimal maintenance.  Zera is housetrained and has good manners; she does not bark excessively.    Zera is extremely intelligent and responds well to training.   

After proper introductions, she had no problems transitioning into her foster family’s household of four dogs (6 pounds to 70 pounds),  and gets along well with all of them.     Zera gets along well with their teenage children but may not do well with small children; she does not get along with cats. 

Zera loves to run and play in the yard but is equally happy snoozing on the couch.    She likes a lot of attention and loves to cuddle.    Please consider giving Zera the new beginning that she so very much deserves!
